In the Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. These internships are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.
In Washington, DC, interns will observe the inner workings of a Congressional office while gaining firsthand knowledge of the legislative process. DC responsibilities include leading Capitol tours, answering phones, assisting staff with legislative projects, attending briefings and hearings, and working on special projects.
In the District office, interns may be asked to do a variety of things, including day-to-day office work such as answering phones and assisting with media clips. In addition, interns may be assigned to assist in various constituent case work or work on District-based projects of importance.
If you would like more information on Congressional Internships—please contact our office.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis depending on need, but generally, we attempt to fill our internship positions by 1-2 months prior to the start of each internship.
