Today, Congressman Steve Russell (OK-5) voted for the American Health Care Act (AHCA). The bill passed the House by a margin of 217 to 213. Republicans took a major step toward fulfilling the promise they have been making to the American people for the past 7 years: repealing and replacing the disaster of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) with a more patient-centered, affordable, and flexible system. The AHCA removes the ACA’s burdens and puts in place a responsible replacement.
Congressman Russell’s statement on voting for the AHCA: “This was a hill the American people needed us to take. We heard them -- and now the hill is theirs.”
