Congressman Steve Russell has been selected to join the House-Senate conference committee for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2016.
Congressman Steve Russell offered this statement, “I am proud to join the conference to iron out the differences between the House and Senate versions of the NDAA. It is very important that we get this right, for the sake of the readiness of our military both at home and abroad. We have an opportunity to affect acquisition reform, as well as pay for our national defense, and I look forward to working with my fellow conferees to finalize a bill that the President should sign.”
Speaker of the House John Boehner said of Congressman Russell’s inclusion in the NDAA conference, “It is great to have Congressman Russell in on the discussion for the NDAA. His background as a 21 year veteran, and as a standout member of the Freshman Class, make him an excellent addition. I am sure that he, as well as the other conferees, will complete the NDAA that all of Congress should support.”
